ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - ACTING COACH
Sheila is co-founder and Artistic Director of Collective Act Productions, a film and theatre production company based in Brooklyn, NY and Los Angeles, CA. A graduate of Columbia University, Sheila writes and directs for both stage and screen.
Sheila Dvorak began working in independent film in 2003 when she and Tze Chun joined forces as The Complications. They made twelve short films together, including DOCUMENT, which premiered as part of the New Directors series at Anthology Film Archives, and WINDOWBREAKER, which screened at Sundance in 2007.
Sheila also worked on the Sundance 2010 feature ARMLESS and the documentary SEE WHAT I'M SAYING: THE DEAF ENTERTAINERS DOCUMENTARY. Sheila’s original short film VACATION BIBLE LEMONADE screened in competition at the 2008 Woods Hole Film Festival.
Currently, Sheila is currently writing and producing a documentary about the United States Postal Service and working on preparations for her first directorial effort, ARTIFICIAL DISSEMINATION, a selection of the 2007 Tribeca All Access program.
